L’importance d’être seul

The installation is an answer to one's self (or a necessity) according to the solitary experience of the island of South Uist in Scotland, a deserted desert landscape where each angle of view is a response to the other. Where the wild grasses transmit their madness, where only the rut of the deer disturbs the intoxicating sound of the wind which whips this bald island.

The hallway is not large enough for one person and the images at the end of the tunnel flutter frantically in epileptic disorder, like mirages.

The installation was made for the exhibition "Before the moon falls" at Recyclart, Brussels, with the collective En Silence.
